There was once a time when Daniel Bryan and his fans feared that he wouldn't be available for WrestleMania 31 because of injuries to his neck that forced him to have surgery. But despite the fact that Daniel Bryan will compete at WrestleMania 31 on March 29 in Santa Clara, California, fans of Bryan are still disappointed.
That is because the former WWE Heavyweight Champion is not going to main event Mania like he did last year, and instead will be competing against six other wrestlers in a ladder match for the Intercontinental Championship. Though this match and Bryan's involvement will undoubtedly give the Intercontinental Championship a reputation boost, the majority of Daniel Bryan's fans feel that it's a huge mistake to not give Bryan the main event spot at Mania - and they are not the only ones who think this.
Bret Hart is a WWE legend for many reasons, and on Monday the former superstar hit the nail on the head somewhat. Hart feels that WWE are making a huge mistake to not include Daniel Bryan in the main event at WrestleMania 31 against Brock Lesnar, and it's likely that Hart's comments will be greeted with a warm reaction by Bryan fans across the WWE Universe.
"I think Daniel Bryan was a great champion and had his run was cut short and I think fans wanted to see him get that moment that he deserves," Hart explained on Monday, according to a WrestleZone report.
"Even though he won the title and WrestleMania last year was such a big thing for him, the fans want to see him get his proper chance and I think the WWE put a line through that and I think that’s probably a mistake."
Despite many WWE fans issues with potential future champion Roman Reigns, Bret Hart says that he respects Reigns, but he feels that WWE fans are well and truly still with Bryan.
"I think Roman Reigns is ready and he is really good, I think he is a really great talent and has a lot of potential," Hart added. "I can see why they want to push him but I really think the hearts and minds of the wrestling fans are with Daniel Bryan. His work rate in the ring and what he gives through the match just means so much more to the wrestling fans than anything else."
