At WrestleMania 31 a number of Superstars and Divas will be looking to impress the world in their respective matches.
There are already some big matches announced for the event such as the WWE World Heavyweight Championship match between Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns, but there are other matches which could potentially steal the show and the superstars involved will obviously play a big role in the matches.
Ones to watch
With all of the focus on the big matches and big-name superstars, here are some of the low-key names to look out for at WrestleMania 31.
Curtis Axel looks like he has finally found something that works for him. Playing the role of the Intercontinental Champion as a Paul Heyman guy had run its course and the project clearly didn’t work, and RybAxel was never going to really take off, Ryback has resurrected his career and Curtis Axel might be able to do the same.
His AxelMania gimmick might be another comedy feature the WWE are using but the fans seem to be running with it, just like they did when Damien Sandow was posing as different characters.
He still claims he hasn’t been eliminated from the Royal Rumble and he doesn’t hide it either, it looks to be quite popular and even though fans might dismiss him as a favourite don’t rule Curtis Axel out just yet as AxelMania might just run wild in the Andre the Giant memorial battle royal at WrestleMania 31.
Damien Mizdow is now in the Andre the Giant memorial battle royal as well and he has had a better year than expected. Even though it would have been great to see him as a World Champion, he’s proven he can do pretty much anything having played the role of The Miz’s stunt double to perfection.
Now that friction has been created between the two, Mizdow will be a huge favourite in the battle royal, and we saw the fans are behind him as he received a great reaction at the Royal Rumble even as he was eliminated quickly.
Now that he’s not a stunt double, he won’t have to do whatever The Miz does and what a turnaround it will be if he can actually go ahead and win the Andre the Giant memorial battle royal.
It’s been approximately one year since Paige made her impressive debut on the main roster and she’s had a good year. A WrestleMania victory will top it off her. A title match would have been better to witness as a fan with the four divas involved as it would have been far more competitive, but Paige can still do something to put on an impressive performance.
The likelihood is The Bella Twins will pick up the win considering Nikki is the champion but if Paige can secure the victory for her team (she teams up with AJ Lee) then that will be a great moment in her young career, a victory for her can’t be ruled out.
This addition to the ladder match was a little random considering fans called for a one on one match against Goldust at WrestleMania 31 but nevertheless Stardust will bring his strange personality to this match. I don’t think he can be ruled out as easily as someone like R-Truth for example.
If Goldust is to call it a day soon, then the likelihood is that the Stardust character will be moving forward as he replaces Goldust, and a great way to make an impact that way will be to hold the prestigious Intercontinental Championship.
