They say old habits die hard, and that's what CM Punk is finding out the hard way.
The former WWE champion has admitted that he's finding it hard to let go years of 'professional wrestling' experience and isn't fighting properly.
Struggles in MMA
He spoke to MMAFighting.com about his problems, saying that he even reached out to current WWE champ, Brock Lesnar for help.

"[Lesnar] offered his help," Brooks told MMAFighting.com.
"He said, ‘Anything. You got a stupid question, you want to bug me, go for it.' So I do. I asked him what the hardest thing for him to do was, because obviously he's a freak athlete but something had to be difficult for him. And I find it's the exact same thing I'm having difficulty with, and that's learning to let go.

"Sparring is completely different. Somebody's trying to punch me in the face, I'm trying to punch them in the face. But often I'll find that I'm too light on guys if I'm rolling. My hips aren't heavy enough, because it's almost like I'm trying to work with them. It's like the old pro wrestling kicking in, and he had that same problem. So it's interesting to know that."
Still no debut date booked
Despite being one of the most talked fighters in years, Punk hasn't given any clear indication of when he expects to fight. And even if he his ready, the UFC face a selection crisis.
With a 0-0 record and no previous experience, it'd make sense to put Punk up against an amateur. Yet then his opponent is going to be a 'no-name', it'll be a tough sell to the fans and if he loses, the UFC come away empty-handed.
Celebrity bout idea
Then there's the celebrity bout idea, with a leasing contender being Jason David Frank, better known as Tommy from the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. But that fight will be no more than a celebrity sideshow and may detract from the media coverage.
Many champions could headline a card with Punk on it but they'd have to be ok with getting upstaged in coverage by Punk Then there's putting him against an active pro-fighter and with Punk looking to be a welterweight, he'll be facing a serious threat.
However the UFC decide on an opponent, lets just hope Punk is able to put his past behind him. Although, him hitting a GTS or Macho Man elbow from the cage would definitely put butts in seats.
