The Tennessee Titans have the number two pick in the 2015 NFL draft and they have a lot of areas that they need to improve on their roster ahead of next season.
It seems like the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are almost guaranteed to take former Florida State Seminoles quarterback Jameis Winston with the first overall pick, thanks to the simple fact that they only have one quarterback of note on their roster in Mike Glennon.
When the Titans are on the clock, things get a lot more interesting. There's a cluster of talent that could all be take their, but Titans head coach Ken Whisenhunt may have just dropped a huge hint as to who he and the Titans will be selecting.
Whisenhunt was at the annual AFC coaches breakfast on Tuesday, and according to a tweet from Jim Corbett of USA Today, the second year head coach revealed he absolutely loves quarterback Marcus Mariota.
Whisenhunt went on to add that Tennessee have got a shortlist of six players that they are considering using that number two pick on and that Jameis Winston is one of those players, with the former Heisman winner coming in for a private workout on the off-chance he is still available.
However, the Titans coach has already had reigning Heisman winner in and seen him throw the ball around already. More importantly, Whisenhunt sounded very high on the former Oregon Ducks star.
"I've been very impressed with him," Whisenhunt said. "I spent an hour and a half with him in the classroom and went out on the field and worked out with him. How he handled that whole situation, he did a really nice job.
"To me, he shows a lot of the qualities of those guys who have been successful in the league. The team gravitates to him, they really like him. He's an accurate thrower, he doesn't turn the ball over much and can extend the play," Whisenhunt added.
Mariota will no doubt be available to the Titans when Roger Goodell calls out their name on April 30th, but whether or not Whisenhunt will make the decision to bring in Mariota ahead of the likes of Vic Beasley, Kevin White or Leonard Williams.
