Germany coach tells Arsenal player to quit the club

Published Add your comment

Germany national team coach Oliver Bierhoff has urged Arsenal outcast Lukas Podolski to find a new club where he can play with less pressure, and for a manager that trusts him. The 29-year-old swapped the Emirates for the San Siro after joining Inter Milan on loan in January, but his fortunes have hardly improved in Italy after struggling to regain his form. Roberto Mancini has provided Podolski with more opportunities in his starting line-up, but he doesn't appear particularly well-suited to the style of football in Serie 'A'. A return to north London this summer looks imminent, but Bierhoff says his compatriot should quit the Gunners permanently after losing the faith of Arsene Wenger who failed to pick him from the start in any Premier League game in the first half of the season.
