Published Add your comment

Chelsea have decided to let promising youngster Nathan Ake join Reading until the end of the season, with former Blues assistant manager Steve Clarke looking to utilise his skills as he seeks to finish strongly in the Championship. The 20-year-old will be ineligible for the FA Cup semi-final clash The Royals have against Arsenal next month after playing for his parent club in an earlier round, but nonetheless Clarke feels he could have a big impact on the squad. Ake has so far made 11 first-team appearances for the Blues since joining in 2011, and will hope he isn’t the latest promising youngster to fall short of the club’s expectations of development. In other news Diego Costa has hinted that he believes a fixture overload was the blame for Chelsea’s Champions League exit. Mourinho’s men were unceremoniously dumped out on away goals after drawing with Paris Saint-Germain at Stamford Bridge, but Costa has said they will do better next year.
