Just days after boasting that he plans to steal the show at WrestleMania 31, Daniel Bryan has made the worrying admission that the neck injured that has ruined his last 12 months is a legitimate fear ahead of Sunday night's action.
Speaking to WWE's Michael Cole, the fan favorite claimed that the unique challenges associated with the Intercontinental Title Ladder Match are causing him to be concerned.
Bryan will compete against six other WWE Superstars, including Dean Ambrose and Dolph Ziggler, as he looks to secure the only title that has alluded him so far in his WWE career.
"There's going to be seven of the hungriest WWE Superstars all fighting for this Intercontinental Championship. And Im not going to lie. I am a little bit concerned," began Bryan.
"This whole time since I've come back my neck has been a question mark...This is putting me in a situation that my neck hasn't been in since I've had the surgery."
Bryan went on to claim that he is "at peace" with the injury and is prepared to go with the flow when the match gets underway at Levi's Stadium. His public admission though will worry his many followers ahead of what is undoubtedly Bryan's biggest night since coming away victorious in the WrestleMania XXX main event.
What will boost the Yes! movement though is the way that Daniel Bryan explained how he overcomes the fear of another serious injury.
"You have to get rid of the fear. You have to get rid of this idea that your body is going to be in pain."
"You have to accept that those things are going to happen."
If Daniel Bryan can come away from WrestleMania XXXI as the new Intercontinental Champion it will help put shed some of the demons that have arisen over the past 12 months.
Bryan was out of action for eight months after undergoing surgery on his neck on May 15. It was only on January 15, on an episode of SmackDown, that the bearded Superstar actually returned to wrestling.
It is not surprising then, ahead of a monumental night for both the WWE and the man himself, Bryan has niggling concerns as to whether his neck will hold up under the strain against some of the biggest names in the business.
