Manchester United target Memphis Depay has revealed in an interview with Dutch newspaper AD how regular talks with Old Trafford legend Ruud van Nistelrooy are helping him to improve his game.
The 21-year-old winger - currently of PSV Eindhoven - has been working closely with the retired striker in the Dutch national team set-up, following the former Red Devils favourite's appointment as part of Guus Hiddink's coaching team.
Depay has been earning rave reviews in Holland this season having scored 23 goals in 34 games in all competitions, prompting admiring glances from a host of top European suitors, including the Premier League giants.

Louis van Gaal is a known fan of the wide-man - who has been likened in playing style to Cristiano Ronaldo - with the Daily Mail reporting earlier this month that the veteran coach is keen to bring him to the Theatre of Dreams.
Tottenham Hotspur have also been credited with an interest in Depay in the same report, but Manchester United should probably be regarded as the favourites to secure the Philips Stadion starlet's signature, given the relationship already established between the player and Van Gaal.

Depay was selected in the ex-Netherlands boss' 23-man squad for the World Cup in Brazil last summer, and after taking his game to the next level this term it's easy to see why the Iron Tulip wants to be reunited with the versatile attacking talent in England.
Red Devils supporters will hope that Van Nistelrooy can help convince the PSV star his future will be best served in Manchester, following confirmation from the player he is motivated by the advice that he's already been given.
“We look at what can be improved,” explained Depay when asked about the finer details of instructions he's received from the Oranje assistant coach. “My finishing for example. To sit and talk with Ruud motivates me about football.”
Van Nistelrooy is certainly not a bad mentor for Depay to take tips from when you look at his prolific goalscoring record from his playing career, netting an incredible 347 goals in 589 games in all competitions for the likes of PSV, Manchester United, Real Madrid, Hamburg and Malaga amongst others.
The perfect mentor
The fact he arrived at Old Trafford in 2001 from the same club that Depay is playing for now could also prove decisive when the youngster decides how much guidance to take from a guy that scored 150 times in 219 appearances for Manchester United.
