WrestleMania 31 is only a couple of days away and the matches are still completely up in the air.
Daniel Bryan, Dolph Ziggler and Dean Ambrose are the favourites to win the ladder match for the intercontinental championship, while Roman Reigns headlines his first ever pay-per-view against the recently re-signed Brock Lesnar.
Whilst there have been rumours that changes have been made to the Lesnar-Reigns event, there are no allegedlies around the fact that there has been a huge change to the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal.
In an unprecedented move that surely has to damage the credibility and prestige of the over-the-top event, the Battle Royal has been moved to the WrestleMania 31 Kickoff Pre-show on Sunday instead of being on the main thing itself.
And the reason for the change has finally been revealed. According to a report from F4Wonline.com, (subscription required) the change was made after officials timed the show and found it overran.
Got the Chop
More time was given to the big matches and angles taking place at 'Mania like the aforementioned ladder match, heavyweight championship as well as Sting vs Triple H, Bray Wyatt vs The Undertaker and Seth Rollins against Randy Orton. After this, the WWE apparently were forced to cut a match from the main card.
Later in the piece, F4Wonline noted that they were told that the show was going to begin with the Fatal 4 Way at 6:30pm EST, but that is now almost certainly going to change. WWE's official announcement on the Battle Royal change did note that it will take place during the second hour of the pre-show.
The Fatal 4 Way for the WWE Tag Team Titles with The Usos vs. The New Day vs. Los Matadores vs. Tyson Kidd and Cesaro is also still on the pre-show.
