With AC Milan struggling for goals and firepower, it is no surprise that Filippo Inzaghi’s struggling side have been linked with a move for out-of-favour Borussia Dortmund striker Ciro Immobile.
The Italian, who only left Torino for a new challenge in the Bundesliga last summer, has failed to replicate the form displayed in Serie A and now looks set for a summer exit if a recent report by TalkSport is to be believed.
Premier League giants Liverpool are also interested given the way their current crop of strikers have flattered to deceive, though could find themselves usurped if Immobile opts for a return back to his homeland.

Immobile’s disappointing time at Dortmund has come as somewhat of a surprise given the way he fired Torino to a seventh-place finish last season and beat the likes of Carlos Tevez and Mauro Icardi to win the Golden Boot.

The Italian was signed by Jurgen Klopp to fill the void left by Polish forward Robert Lewandowski’s departure to Bayern Munich, but has managed just three Bundesliga goals as Dortmund have slumped.
A summer departure could now be in the offing and, providing that Milan could beat Liverpool in the race for his signature, the San Siro now looks his likeliest destination.
Inzaghi was a predatory goalscorer as a player, a true great of both Serie A and the Champions League, but he has so far struggled to coax the best from the crop of strikers he has had at his disposal since taking over from Clarence Seedorf in the summer.
Fernando Torres was signed on loan from Chelsea with the hope he could ignite and replicate the form shown during his days at Liverpool, but after netting just once was taken off the Blues’ books and consequently shipped on loan to boyhood club Atletico Madrid.
There was a similar level of expectation surrounding the arrival of Mattia Destro, signed on loan from fellow Italian side Roma, but the one-time Chelsea and Arsenal target has endured a similarly frustrating time, scoring just twice in the colours of his new side.
Liverpool are also interested with Mario Balotelli, Fabio Borini and Rickie Lambert all tipped to depart Anfield in the summer, but they could opt to place their faith in struggling Manchester United forward Radamel Falcao who is keen to remain in the Premier League.
