After another stellar season helping the New England Patriots to yet another Super Bowl win, Tom Brady could once again do no wrong in the eyes of the Pats faithful.
Or that is what he thought when he posted a new video to his official Facebook page showing a recent cliff dive attempt made in Costa Rica.
While he has undoubtedly earned the right to enjoy himself this offseason, Tom Brady's risky stunt was enough to give Patriots fans heart palpitations - not to mention head coach Bill Belichick and owner Robert Kraft.
Uploaded this weekend, it sees the four-time champion throwing himself off a cliff into a lagoon in Costa Rica.
Only after seeing Tom Brady resurface without issue will Pats fans have been able to breathe again.
The man with the golden arm is New England's most prized asset and, as such, many Patriots fans were far from happy seeing him seemingly risk injury with the leap of faith.
The overall reaction saw Brady labelled; "Crazy", "Stupid" and "irresponsible" amongst other choice phrases.
To be fair to the four-time Champ though, after initial skepticism and a bout of nerves atop the rock, he shows fine form with the pencil dive. And the attached comment on his Facebook post shows that he has no intention of putting himself through anything like that ever again.
Plenty left to come
The New England Patriots might want to get Tom Brady back to the U.S and wrapped in cotton wool ASAP after the veteran quarterback once again proved in 2014 that he remains at the elite level.
After being written off by many fans and pundits as New England struggled early on, a typical Brady-like second half of the season saw the franchise build up momentum that ultimately led them all the way to Super Bowl glory.
Signed on for another three seasons at Foxboro Brady might want to wait until the summer of 2018 at least before attempting his next stunt.
What do you think Patriots fans? Are people right to criticize Brady for stunts like this, or has he earned the right to do what he wants away from the NFL? Let us know in the comments section below...
