Despite his troubles at Manchester United, Radamel Falcao has enjoyed quite the week with the Colombian national side.
After scoring twice on Thursday in a 6-0 victory over Bahrain, the former Atletico Madrid forward has just netted once again on the international scene.
The forward, who has endured a tricky time at Old Trafford under the guidance of Louis van Gaal this season, scored the final goal of the game as Colombia beat Kuwait 3-1 this evening.
After scoring twice from open play against Bahrain, this time Falcao proved that he's still got it from the spot as he rifled a penalty home to secure the victory for his side.
In fact, it was the Manchester United forward who won the penalty as he went down under a late challenge despite it appearing that the initial contact came right on the edge of the penalty box.
Falcao certainly won't mind and he will no doubt return to England full of confidence after a fine week away.
A start against Villa
Of course critics will argue that Falcao's goals have only came against the duo of Kuwait and Bahrain, but the three strikes will only improve his confidence as he desperately goes in search of ending the season on a high at Old Trafford.
Despite the fact United have been on a role of late, perhaps it would be worth Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal playing the Colombian striker from the start.
At the end of the day confidence has played its part in the player's downfall this term, so perhaps he will return with greater belief. It's a risk, but one that could pay off for the United manager.
