Gareth Bale got his name on the scoreboard twice over the weekend as he helped Wales to an impressive 3-0 away win over Israel but, in a new video posted online by NBA UK today, the Real Madrid star has now gone one better than that - hitting a hat-trick of a very unique nature.
Three for Bale
The Welshman is known for his ability with the ball at his feet but, taking part in the NBA UK half-court challenge, he showed himself to be fairly adept using his hands too as he leapt to the top of the leaderboard.
The video, which can be seen further down this article, shows Gareth Bale struggle at the outset as he takes aim at the hoop from the equivalent of half a basketball court. Five shots later though and you can't help but be impressed.

Revealing that he only really started taking an interest in the game over the summer of 2014 - a trip to Miami that coincided with a LeBron James-led Heat appearing in the NBA Finals playing it's part - Bale has clearly been quick to pick up the technique. Not surprising for a man who's athletic ability has him valued at £80 million.
Laying down a challenge
After reeling of the impressive 3-of-5 stat line, Bale then identified the two people he'd like to see follow in his footsteps - current Real Madrid teammate Luka Modrić and British F1 driver Lewis Hamilton.
Judging by those who attempted the fiendishly tough half-court challenge before him though, the Real Madrid man might not be holding his breath on the duo's ability.
Before heading back to his day job Bale also had his say on his ultimate five-man dream team.
With very little competition as the soccer world's top deep ball shooter it was perhaps no surprise that the first name on the roster was his own. As for the others...
"Peter Crouch for a nice bit of height in the team, Luka Modrić for the playmaker. Yaya Touré for the lungs of the team - for the back and forth - and Brad Friedel."
"Brad's got the safe hands, he's American, knows the game and he can control everything," Bale explained to NBA UK.
