The first episode of Monday Night Raw after WrestleMania is always a great one to be a part of as the WWE usually pull out all the stops and the fans in attendance never hide their feelings and this time the fans were treated to another NXT star moving to the main roster.

Following in the footsteps of Paige last year, former NXT Champion Adrian Neville made his long-awaited move to the main roster.

It was no secret that Adrian Neville was going to be the next big NXT star to make the move from NXT to the main roster but this week it was made official.

Earlier on in the episode, a video package was aired hyping the arrival of Adrian Neville but unlike many other video packages hyping up NXT talent, there was no date for his arrival so fans were left assuming he would be here in a couple of weeks or even a month or so.

But they were wrong and Adrian Neville did make his long-awaited singles debut on Monday Night Raw – he has already performed on Raw before the NXT Takeover Fatal 4 Way special event, teaming with Sami Zayn to defeat Tyson Kidd and Tyler Breeze.

This time, he interrupted Curtis Axel who was adamant that AxelMania was still running wild after it took 29 superstars to eliminate him from the Andre the Giant memorial battle royal on the WrestleMania pre-show.

Much to the surprise of the audience, the infamous Adrian Neville theme music – Break Orbit by CFO$ - hit the PA system and the fans familiar with Neville and his work didn’t hide their feelings towards the exciting superstar.

He donned new attire, a purple hooded cape and wrestling trunks, something NXT fans aren’t accustomed to but what was more surprising was that Lilian Garcia announced him simply as Neville; so it looks as if the WWE have opted to drop ‘Adrian’ from his name, something the WWE are famous for doing, we have recently seen it with the likes of Cesaro dropping Antonio, Big E dropping Langston and Rusev dropping Alexander so now Adrian Neville will also go by one name, which could take some getting used to for his loyal NXT fans.

Neville kicked off the match in style, connecting with a flip from the apron before taking the match inside of the ring and dismantling Curtis Axel to leave the fans in awe, and as expected he continued to show off his impressive move set by connecting with the Red Arrow to pick up his first singles victory on Monday Night Raw which could potentially kick off a great main roster career for Neville provided the WWE stay away from the rumoured Mighty Mouse gimmick, and he is booked correctly.

The talent is there, now it’s time for the WWE to put some faith in Neville now that he’s finally on the main roster.
