Jose Mourinho has insisted there will be no mass change at Stamford Bridge this summer as the players currently on his books have earned their places.

Despite several rumours implying that there could be huge outlays from Chelsea’s coffers at the end of the season, The Special One said that just a ‘couple’ of new faces might arrive, whilst he will be loyal to those who have toiled for this during this term.

Mourinho admission

Chelsea are just a small number of wins away from securing their first Premier League title since 2010, and consistency has been key to their success. Mourinho has claimed as a result of their performances his players have proven their worth.

"Everything starts with the squad we have, and the players we want to keep," Mourinho revealed, as per the Daily Star.

"In that regard there is not a big space for new faces. The new faces will be a couple and will be a consequence of what the market can dictate.

"I try and be loyal to players. They deserve that loyalty for what they're giving.

"Even if direct competitors come in with huge amounts to buy top players, if my squad gives everything and gives us the Premier League title, loyalty will be stronger than a desire to buy new players."

No big moves?

That likely means that there will be no move for Liverpool star Raheem Sterling, no transfer race for Italian hot-shot Mauro Icardi, no blockbuster bid for Paul Pogba and no drawn out attempt to prise Raphael Varane from Real Madrid.

The Blues will continue to be linked with moves for Europe’s best players but whilst Mourinho’s current crop are cutting the mustard it doesn’t look like he’s ready to break the bank just for the sake of it. Of course that could change if the Portuguese coach believes he can make his team even stronger, but there’s few out there who are good enough to be improvements on what he already has.
