Many have been worried about the future of the Boston Bruins. Zdeno Chara is getting older, key players were traded in the offseason and the Bruins have had a rocky season. However, one thing has proven to ring true in Boston, the future is not dark, it's bright.
Two young forwards for the Boston Bruins have really proven themselves this year. David Pastrnak and Ryan Spooner have formed quite the chemistry on the ice. Also on this line is Milan Lucic, who provides necessary grit and experience, for the young guys to pick up on.
As much as Milan Lucic helps the youngsters, Pastrnak and Spooner have really helped elevate his game as well. Mike Millbury of NBC Sports is one of the NHL experts who shares this view and recently he opened up on how Lucic's game has improved.
"I love the fact that they have someone up there that pushes his pace. Because when his pace is high it's really effective, especially when he finishes with his ugly stick,"Millbury explained.
"That's where you want Lucic to be. Pastrnak especially has a little joy to his game. You can see where he gets excited to make a play. He's constantly moving his feet and Spooner seems to have really found his rhythm."
Lucic, Pastrnak and Spooner all have special parts of their game that mesh well together, that is why most believe that this is the most productive Bruins line. Pastrnak has 27 points in 41 games for the Bruins, while Spooner has 17 points in 24 games. With these two young players so full of potential, one can only imagine how elite they could be in the NHL for the Bruins.
The young forwards have all the attention right now because of their production, but the defenseman shouldn't go unnoticed. With Johnny Boychuk leaving there were voids to be filled, but they have been filled by young defenders that will just continue to get even better. Dougie Hamilton and Torey Krug show a lot of potential and could become real productive players for the Bruins.
The Bruins are focusing on the playoffs right now and that's what the fans want to see, but fans need not worry about the future as it is in great hands with their youth players.
