Darren McFadden is one of the NFL’s biggest enigmas and now the Dallas Cowboys are in the process of trying to solve the riddle - how do you get McFadden to be consistent?

McFadden was a dominant runner in the early part of his career with the Oakland Raiders, but following three poor seasons they were more than willing to let him go.

Fast forward to this offseason, and the Cowboys made the somewhat bizarre decision to replace the NFL's leading rusher DeMarco Murray with McFadden, after letting the former leave the franchise in free agency following a pay dispute.

While it is likely that Dallas will make further moves at the running back position before the start of the 2015 NFL season, McFadden remains the number one runner in Dallas at the moment, and the new Cowboy says he plans to prove his doubters wrong this season.

"I just want to go out there and continue to show people what I can do," he said, NFL.com reported. "I still don't think the world has seen the best of Darren McFadden."

"It's self-explanatory, when you look at those guys on film, they're just opening holes," McFadden said of the Cowboys' offensive line.

"They have a great group of guys that are working hard. Even there now working out, the whole O-line is there right now before OTAs, so it's a great group of guys and they have a great thing going. ... I'm looking forward to being there with them."

Can Darren McFadden really reignite his career with the Dallas Cowboys? Leave your thoughts in the comments section below.
