Arsene Wenger will not sign a defensive midfielder for Arsenal this summer

A lot of people have been crying out for the fierce Patrick Vieira-like defensive midfielder at the heart of the Arsenal team and the emergence of Francis Coquelin has somewhat changed that stance.

However, a group of fans still think that Arsene Wenger should buy another player for that problem position who could partner Coquelin in the middle of the park.

Names like William Carvalho, Paul Pogba or Charles Aranguiz have been linked recently, but I believe Wenger will not sign another defensive midfielder because he has already bought one in Krystian Bielik.

Wenger recently mentioned that Bielik will not play any competitive game this season. The reason he gave is that he wants the Pole to bulk up and adapt to the English game.

Bielik is a talented player and one should not be surprised if the youngster starts game alongside Coquelin next season.

Wenger is no stranger to starting talented teenagers in the Premier League - a certain Cesc Fabregas comes to mind amongst many others.

Bielik has been playing a few U21 games recently and this week he started for an Arsenal XI against Brentford alongside Jack Wilshere, club captain Mikel Arteta, Abou Diaby and Mathieu Debuchy.

While many will be hoping for a marquee high profile signing next season and hoping that he is a defensive midfielder, Wenger will be working hard to prepare the next gem he thinks could win the hearts of Arsenal fans.
