Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas put on a brave face following the 2-1 victory over Stoke City at the weekend.

The Spanish international was happy to joke about a nasty-looking cut on his nose in the wake of the clash at Stamford Bridge, with goals from Eden Hazard and Loic Remy securing three points for the Blues.

Adam tussle

It was Charlie Adam’s 66-yard wonder-strike which took most of the headlines however, and the Scottish goalscorer was the man who caused the damage to the face of Fabregas in a 40th minute tussle.

There was no bad feeling between the pair after the game though, it would seem, as the Chelsea ace took to Instagram to share the photo.

He wrote: "At least I might be able to fix my nose after all... Good win today!”

Fabregas is no stranger to seeing injuries against Stoke - he was on the pitch for Arsenal the day Aaron Ramsey suffered a broken leg and went on to dedicate his late winner in that game to the Welshman.

Thankfully this injury was far less serious, and in truth the nose of Fabregas doesn’t look too bad at all! There are plenty of centre backs who have more serious facial battle scars.

Fit for QPR

The ‘cosmetic’ problem is also not likely to keep the former Barcelona superstar out of action this week, and manager Jose Mourinho should have the player to pick when they travel to face QPR next weekend in the Premier League.

Chelsea fans, do you think Cesc Fabregas has been your best player this season?
