Manchester United defender target Mats Hummels admits one thing - ‘gut feel’ - could hold the key to a possible move away from Borussia Dortmund this summer.
The Germany international, who helped his country to the World Cup trophy last summer, has been heavily linked with a move away from the Bundesliga giants after a disappointing season for Jurgen Klopp’s side.
Dortmund are set to miss out on next season’s Champions League, and the Daily Telegraph claims the Red Devils are willing to pay in the region of €40million to make a move happen.

It’s not money - or even football at Europe’s top table - that will sway Hummels over his future, however. Instead, it’s the same thing that led to his move from Bayern Munich to the Westfalenstadion back in 2007.
"It's going to be the same again this time,” he told Sky when asked about his possible future destination.

"That doesn't mean that I am leaving, it just means I'm reflecting.
"There's no particular tendency one way or the other. It's just thoughts going through my mind. It will all become clearer in the coming weeks.”
Hummels was speaking following his side’s 1-0 defeat to Munich at the weekend - a defeat that means Dortmund are 10th in the table. Pep Guardiola’s side, meanwhile, are 10 points clear.
Manchester United, on the other hand, have got themselves back in the Premier League title picture this season under Louis van Gaal, although they are likely to fall someway short of top spot on this occasion.
It’s been a marked improvement under the Dutchman’s guidance though, and some defensive improvements at Old Trafford could be significant for their challenge next season.
Injuries had hampered the Red Devils at the start of the campaign, with the likes of Paddy McNair and Tyler Blackett earning some significant game time ahead of David de Gea.
Whilst both did well, they aren’t at the same standard as Hummels, who would instantly slot into the first team ahead of the likes of Chris Smalling and Phil Jones.
These comments aren’t a clear indication that Hummels wants to move, but they do tell interested parties that he’s thinking about it.
The centre back would be an excellent addition for Manchester United, and Van Gaal might want to start pursuing the player now to secure his services in the Premier League next term.
Manchester United fans, do you think Louis van Gaal should go all out to sign Hummels in the summer?
