Tennessee Titans have the second overall pick in the NFL Draft, which will take place at the end of this month, but by the time it comes to draft day that pick might not be theirs anymore.
This is because reports have suggested that the Titans are willing to trade the number two overall pick if the deal is right for them, with NFL Media insider Ian Rapoport stating on Tuesday that there is a possibility that the Titans would be willing to make a deal that shocks the NFL.
The Titans are currently in line to take former Oregon quarterback Marcus Mariota with the second overall selection in the 2015 NFL Draft, but Rapoport has heard that the AFC South team are more than interested in potentially shocking the NFL with a huge trade.
"This is a spot that could be a potential trade, especially if somebody wants to come up for Marcus Mariota," Rapoport explained on Tuesday, according to NFL.com.
"Are the Titans interested? Talking to people familiar with their thinking, it would take a lot -- a real lot -- to move up to No. 2 and convince the Titans that it is worth giving up some potential franchise players. Are they open to trading? They are, but it would take a lot to actually make it happen."
Trading for Philip Rivers?
There has been plenty of speculation in the last 24 hours that suggests that should the Titans be willing to trade their second overall pick, then San Diego Chargers would be the interested party.
Yahoo Sports are suggesting the idea of the Chargers trading quarterback Philip Rivers for the second pick is not as wacky as it sounds, leaving San Diego with the opportunity to pick-up franchise QB Marcus Mariota.
We will have to wait and see on that one, but what do you think NFL fans? What should the Titans and Chargers do? Leave your thoughts in the comments section below.
