Sergio Aguero has stuck his neck out by claiming Manchester United's on-loan striker Radamel Falcao remains one of the most gifted strikers in world football.
Falcao joined the Red Devils on a season-long loan deal from AS Monaco last summer amid much fanfare. He was seen as a marquee addition, but has completely failed to live up to the billing.
The Colombia international has scored just four goals in a Manchester United shirt and was recently demoted to the Under-21s by Louis van Gaal in a last ditch attempt to get him firing again.

Van Gaal's plan failed and it appears Manchester United will not take up the option to make the deal permanent this summer. But despite a season of poor form, Aguero still believes Falcao is up there with the very best.
"He is probably one of the most naturally gifted strikers in football at the moment”
Aguero is quoted by Sky Sports as saying: “He isn’t having an easy time this season, but I really admire his commitment and his class and qualities are permanent.

Falcao has certainly proven he has the ability to be one of the best. He was considered the best striker in the world when at Atletico Madrid and inspired AS Monaco to pay almost £50million for his services as well as £265,000-a-week in wages.
But a serious knee injury seems to have restricted his ability to power past defenders. It seems the 29-year-old has lost a yard of pace and no longer has the razor sharp ability to finish his chances.
He was signed to add an extra dimension to the Manchester United team, but now finds himself as Van Gaal's third choice striker behind Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie.
There are reports that Falcao will be sent back to Monaco with Van Gaal now considering a move for PSG star Edinson Cavani. Cavani is very similar to Falcao in both their playing styles and their current career status.
Cavani moved to Ligue 1 from Napoli with a reputation as one of the world's best strikers, but has failed to establish himself in the French capital. A report in the Daily Star claimed Old Trafford officials would pay upwards of £60m to bring the Uruguayan to the club this summer.
