Manchester United youngster Adnan Januzaj could complete a move to Everton this summer, according to the Manchester Evening News.

The report claims that the Belgian international, who has failed to hold down a place in Louis van Gaal's starting XI this term, would have to force an exit out of Old Trafford in the upcoming market if he wants to leave the club on a permanent basis.

Deal possible

It appears, then, according to the same report that Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal would rather send him out on loan, with it being suggested that the Dutchman would be open to the prospect of a six-month deal.

If Januzaj was to leave the club, then it could cost Roberto Martinez and Co. as much as £20 million to lure him to Goodison Park, but it remains to be seen as to whether they step up their interest in him anytime soon.

The Toffees, of course, were previously rumoured to be interested in the talented winger, so he's certainly admired by Martinez on Merseyside.

There's no doubt about it, as long as his struggles to break into the Manchester United side continue, his long term future will remain the subject of great debate over the coming weeks and months.

Loan is best

Despite his struggled under Van Gaal, there's no way United should allow him to depart on a permanent basis in the next transfer window. £20m is all well and good, but at just 20-years-old, the Belgian international could still have a huge future ahead of him.

Ok, so things haven't gone to plan in his second full season for the first-team, but that can quickly change, and United shouldn't give up on him just yet.

As mentioned, a six-month loan deal appears to be possible and that may well be the best option for both player and club. If Januzaj could secure first-team football at Everton, then he'd no doubt improve under the guidance of Martinez.

If he could return to Old Trafford full of confidence, then he may well secure his place in United's starting XI on a regular basis. He can still have a huge part to play in Manchester for many years yet.
