WrestleMania 31 is in the books now and we saw Seth Rollins cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase and was crowned the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion but the editors at WWE.com have already make bold predictions for WrestleMania 32 which takes place in Texas.
The story is up on their website and the editors have had their say on certain scenarios they believe could take place at the grandest stage of them all next year at the AT&T Stadium in Dallas, some more likely to happen than others.
BATTLE OF THE BILLIONAIRES II
Could Jerry Jones play a part at WrestleMania 32? Matthew Artus certainly thinks so. It fits in well considering the gigantic venue is nicknamed “Jerry’s World” and Vince McMahon could also be in on the action again.
The last time Vince decided to go at it with another billionaire, he had his head shaved thanks to Donald Trump and Bobby Lashley whilst Stone Cold Steve Austin made sure he wasn’t left out of the fun either.
Could it happen? It’s definitely a possibility as the interest will obviously be there, the chairman of the WWE up against the outspoken owner of the Dallas Cowboys could be just as interesting as the first battle of the billionaires.
NXT DIVAS CHAMPIONSHIP
The NXT divas continue to impress on a weekly basis and they take it up a notch on the Takeover specials, and James Wortman believes an NXT diva will defend the divas championship at WrestleMania; which hasn’t been done before.
Currently Sasha Banks holds the championship and the likelihood is she won’t be champion by then as she’ll finally be called up to the main roster. But NXT possesses enough divas that could easily be successful championships that could defend the gold at WrestleMania.
The likelihood is the NXT Divas Championship will be defended at WrestleMania, unless Triple H wants to completely separate the NXT division from the main roster and won’t allow it. Other than that the NXT division will still be a hit and the interest will be as high as ever.
We saw an electrifying moment at WrestleMania 31 with The Rock returning, being slapped by Stephanie McMahon and bringing in the UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey into the ring and she cleared house.
The seeds have already been planted and now that she’s had a WrestleMania moment, you can’t rule out Ronda Rousey playing another role next year, whether it be in the corner of The Rock, teaming up with him or going one on one with Stephanie McMahon; Scott Taylor predicts she will compete next year.
I don’t think this can be ruled out, the biggest stumbling block will be whether her UFC contract allows her to compete inside the squared circle. She’s a guaranteed draw and the WWE should try to do whatever possible to get her back for WrestleMania 32.
KALISTO WINS THE ANDRE THE GIANT MEMORIAL BATTLE ROYAL
This is a very bold prediction from Michael Burdick considering Kalisto has only just debuted on the main roster, but anything can happen in the WWE.
He highlights that the world’s largest athlete will hand over the crown to one of the smallest in the WWE, and Kalisto would definitely be an interesting choice as a winner in the battle royal.
He’s had a great run on NXT, he’s impressed on the main roster as well and if the WWE can book him correctly leading up to WrestleMania 32 then he will be a contender just like a number of other superstars, but at this stage I don’t think Kalisto will be given that big of an honour.
AMBROSE VS. ROLLINS VS. REIGNS
Now this is something the fans want to see, and Michael Murphy believes we will finally see the former Shield stablemates going at it in a triple threat match at WrestleMania 31.
The three of them will always be top superstars in the business and possibly even in the title picture which could make their potential clash that much more exciting. The three of them have achieved a lot in The Shield and their singles careers have taken shape as well with Rollins becoming the WWE World Heavyweight Champion at WrestleMania 31; these three are still destined to face off and there’s no bigger stage for the three of them to compete against one another after coming up through NXT and the main roster together.
STONE COLD STEVE AUSTIN
John Clapp of WWE.com thinks that WrestleMania 32 is the perfect stage for The Texas Rattlesnake to compete one last time.
He hasn’t been given an official farewell from the WWE and having his final match in Texas would make it that much better for him. There are plenty of superstars who would jump at the chance to face Austin in his final match and his addition to the line-up would make WrestleMania 32 even bigger considering it’s expected to draw the largest crowd in the history of the event.
ONE NIGHT ONLY
Jeff Laboon predicts that a one night only tournament will be held for the WWE Tag Team Championships at WrestleMania 32.
The tag team division is very strong right now with Tyson Kidd and Cesaro holding the championships, the likes of The New Day, The Ascension, The Usos, The Prime Time Players plus many more teams who could still be formed will be in the hunt for gold.
If the WWE want to have plenty of surprises in a match, this would be the perfect opportunity to do it.
STING VS. THE UNDERTAKER
Seeing The Undertaker return and look in great shape in his win over Bray Wyatt at WrestleMania 31 was great. Seeing the now take on DX was brilliant, as was seeing Sting’s first ever performance inside of the WWE ring.
Both men have lost at WrestleMania, now is the perfect time to have both men finally meet inside of a WWE ring according to Anthony Benigno.
The fans want this match, the WWE would want this match and WrestleMania 32 is the perfect place to hold such an iconic match.
Sting has been vocal about wanting the match, the two have been pictured together at airports and if the two are still in good shape next year then with WrestleMania 32 set to draw a huge attendance, this would be the perfect place for The Phenom to meet The Vigilante.
