When the WWE signed Prince Devitt it was arguably one of the biggest signings in the history of NXT.
Devitt was already a star on the Indie scene and had a huge following thanks to his all action in-ring style, combined with the Irishman's very likeable persona. Repackaged as Finn Balor, Devitt carried that star power over to NXT where he became a top name almost immediately, rising from a tag team with Hideo Itami to a main eventer in a few short months.
And it looks like Balor's stay in the developmental territory could be over already, with rumors abounding that he is set to be called up to the main roster very shortly.
According to a report from What Culture, very shortly could mean tonight as Raw comes live from London, with the British star making his debut against his own people who would be sure to receive him in raptures.
Michael Hayes, a production agent and a supposed key confidant of Vince McMahon revealed on Twitter that the UK would be in for a surprise, which a lot of people took to mean Balor, who has also been on the tour.
During his entire time on the tour, Balor has been putting on great matches with Adrian Neville. Balor has been working as the heel in those matches but surely the Vince McMahon and the rest of the WWE creative wouldn't turn his obvious like-ability and merchandise potential into a heel.
Balor would come to the WWE without a NXT Title reign. WWE has been planning for current champion Kevin Owens to have a lengthy reign and he is not expected to drop the title any time soon.
And just to add a bit more fuel to the fire, Balor went ahead and tweeted this picture which was taken on the set of tonight's Raw.
