Borussia Dortmund head coach Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that Mats Hummels is considering leaving the Westfalenstadion this summer, and to the delight of Manchester United supporters revealed that his captain is thinking about a move to Old Trafford.
The World Cup winning Germany international has been heavily linked with a switch to the Red Devils in recent weeks, following reports that Louis van Gaal wants to strengthen his back-line with the 26-year-old.
According to the Daily Telegraph last week, Premier League rivals Chelsea are also interested in signing the centre-back, and Jose Mourinho was confident that the opportunity to head to Stamford Bridge would be a more attractive proposition.

However, the Portuguese tactician's hopes of negotiating the £37 million deal have been hampered by Klopp's latest comments, which suggest that Manchester United are in fact better placed than the Blues to complete the transfer.
"He's good enough for Manchester United. He's told me he's thinking things over," the Dortmund boss was quoted saying by Sky Sports in an interview with German broadcaster DW Sport.
"We're always looking around the market ourselves. That we want to keep Mats is beyond question. [But] how that works out I don’t know.
"There’s always a list of players who would be interesting in the event that you need them."
Klopp's intimation that Dortmund are already on the lookout for a potential replacement for Hummels will give Manchester United fans huge encouragement ahead of the summer transfer window, particularly as it's become quite clear that the Bundesliga ace is at the very top of Van Gaal's wish-list.
News of Chelsea's alleged interest in the player would've understandably come as a concern, but now the Red Devils will have renewed faith they can get their man, regardless of whether or not the Blues secure the Premier League title.
Race for the top four
Qualifying for next season's Champions League competition remains as imperative as ever, but with Van Gaal's side currently in a rich vein of form they are looking more and more likely to finish in the top four, especially after Sunday's emphatic 4-2 victory over reigning champions Manchester City.
Third-placed United are now four points clear of their local rivals in fourth, and have a nine-point cushion between themselves and Southampton in fifth spot, although Liverpool can close the gap slightly with victory over Newcastle United on Monday evening.
