Liverpool striker Divock Origi missed an open goal sitter from three yards out for Lille at the weekend.
The loaned out Belgium international was playing in a French Ligue 1 match against Evian Thonon- when, in the 26th minute, he ballooned it over from what seemed to be a sure goal scoring position.
Luckily for the red-faced striker, Lille went on to win the game 1-0 at the Parc des Sports Annecy in Gaillard.
The 19-year-old only recently ended a worrying five-month goal drought in style with a hat trick against Rennes last month.
His parent club Liverpool have struggled for goals themselves in the league this season- only managing to score 45, 19 less than table toppers Chelsea.
The £10m attacker was signed from Lille last summer- only to be loaned back out to the French side.
LOSS OF FORM
There were reports in January that Origi was going to be recalled to the Merseyside club following the striker woes sustained by the club.
Origi hasn’t yet to find the form that won him a place at the World Cup in Brazil last year and it will be interesting to see what Liverpool will do with him when he joins them before the start of next season.
