Luke Shaw has revealed that he and his Manchester United team-mates hung a fake bird over Ashley Young's locker to make fun over the infamous 'bird poo' incident.
For those of you who need context, Young was caught on camera shouting at his Manchester United team-mates during a 2-1 defeat to Swansea City on the opening day of the season.
While United fans would have enjoyed seeing a some passion from the England international, that was not the reason the footage went viral. As with many 'bird poo' incidents, this one involved bird poo.
While Young was shouting, a bird of unknown variety managed to plop some excrement directly into his mouth. The winger does not appear to notice and continues to shout, allowing viewers to get a better look, confirming that it was indeed poop.

After becoming a sensation across the world, Young attempted to deny it had ever happened, saying he was unaware of the incident until he saw the video but his Manchester United team-mates were convinced and wanted to take it further.
“Ashley Young is the joker in the dressing room,” Shaw told Match of the Day magazine. “We still laugh about the time he got bird poo in his mouth against Swansea.
“If you ask him now, he’ll say it wasn’t bird poo.

We are not suggesting that the bird poo was some sort of magical poo, but it seems that ever since that incident happened, Young has rekindled some of his best form. His man of the match display against Manchester City at the weekend involved one goal and two assists and it was not the first time he has inspired United to a victory this season.
Louis van Gaal has been impressed and is reportedly ready to offer him a three-year deal worth £120,000-a-week including bonuses. That is some turnaround for a player who would have almost certainly been sold had David Moyes stayed in charge.
