It may have taken far longer than expected but Wellington Silva can finally play for Arsenal having been issued a Spanish passport. The Brazilian winger signed for the Gunners in 2011 but has been unable to feature for Arsene Wenger’s side as work permit issues proved a problem. He’s been out on a series of loans and is currently with Spanish outfit Almeria, but the latest update, which the player himself shared on Twitter, means he’s now eligible to play for Arsenal. Elsewhere Theo Walcott’s Arsenal future looks to be on the road to salvation, with the player set to open talks with his club over an extension that would keep him at the Emirates Stadium. Where he’ll go next has been a subject of hot debate for some time, but things could be resolved soon.
