Marseille winger Andre Ayew is ready to join Premier League giants Liverpool this summer, according to the Daily Mail.
The report claims that Ayew, who has enjoyed a fine stint in Ligue 1, is assessing his long term future as his current contract is set to come to an end at the end of the campaign.
The Ghanaian international, who recently admitted that was a huge fan of the Reds, has been linked with a number of clubs of late, with the Premier League trio of Everton, Newcastle and Swansea all seemingly interested in his services.
As well as interest from England, the same report from the Mail has suggested that Wolfsburg, Borussia Dortmund and Napoli all have an interest in signing him this summer, but it remains to be seen as to whether any of the clubs step up their pursuit anytime soon.
Talking to the Mail, the winger stated: "I'm a Marseille boy, I love Marseille, the club, the fans, the area, it's a great place to play football and I will continue to speak to them but it's true I'd like to play in England."
Liverpool in the driving seat
It certainly appears that, despite a number of clubs being interested in the player's signature, Liverpool are in the driving seat to land him in the near future.
In fact, the same report claims that the player will fall into the club's budget even if they fail to reach next year's Champions League, as he will be available on a free.
There's no doubt about it, Ayew would prove a fine coup for any Premier League side this summer. At the end of the day, available on a free, he's certainly worth the risk for one of the big-boys as they go in search of improvement.
At Marseille, he's certainly proved his credentials on a consistent basis, and would only add to Brendan Rodgers' options if the Kop boss managed to lure him to Anfield.
At 25, he's certainly approaching his peak, too, so now seems the obvious time for him to make his big move to Engalnd's elite division.
