Video: Steph Curry makes 77 consecutive three point shots in Warriors practice

Steph Curry has been simply phenomenal this season - his MVP-calibre performances shooting the Golden State Warriors to the very top of the NBA standings.

After mesmerizing the entire league for months now there may be some pessimistic Warriors fans fearing that their star man may run out of gas just as the most crucial part of the season - the NBA playoffs - appear on the horizon.

Still hot

A story, and accompanying video, emanating out of Golden State's latest practice will put those fears at ease. As for those teams set to come up against Curry in the coming weeks? They might want to look away now.

We all know that Steph Curry is one of the best in the NBA from three-point range but not even his biggest fan would have backed the MVP candidate to hit 77 straight shots from the arc.

But, as reported by ESPN, that is exactly what the point guard did at the end of Tuesday's Warriors practice session. Fortunately a video captured the latter stages of his insane streak.

I don't know what to love more about this video. The metronomic efficiency of Steph Curry's shooting, or the pain and anguish the NBA star feels when he misses shot number 78.

He is a born competitor that is for sure and, with the Warriors heading into the Playoffs as the Western Conference top seeds, there won't be a player out there not looking on with concern (and envy) after hearing about this.

Curry's partner in crime in the Golden State back court, Klay Thompson, told ESPN that the best three-point streak he'd ever had in practice was 38 shots. With Thompson one of the hottest hands in the NBA right now, the fact Curry just doubled that is simply frightening.

Clutch Curry

Of course 77 consecutive made threes in practice is all well and good but it is in the hardwood in front of a packed arena when those shots will really matter.

Fortunately for Warriors fans the 6ft 3 inch point guard is having the best year of his pro career in the clutch too. With a first round series against either the New Orleans Pelicans or Oklahoma City Thunder of the horizon there is plenty more excitement to come from Curry and his teammates you expect.

What do you think NBA fans? Have you ever heard anything quite as incredible as that? Do you believe he made 77 straight, and who else could even come close? Have your say in the comments section below...
