Daniel Bryan remains one of the most popular Superstars currently doing their thing in the WWE, his Yes! Movement continually drowning out all other chants at events on a regular basis.
As such, any news concerning his health and well-being is big news in the WWE Universe. So when reports today emerged that he had been pulled from the WWE's UK tour after a relapse concerning the neck injury that kept him out for several months last year there was legitimate concern.
The WWE have taken the next logical step this evening - releasing an official statement in an attempt to clarify just exactly what is going on with the much loved wrestler.
After having been contacted by PWInsider.com who were looking for a comment on the Bryan rumors, the WWE had this to say:
"Daniel Bryan has been pulled from the remainder of the UK tour as a precautionary measure."
So what should we make of this response from the WWE? Well, fans can look at it one of two ways.
Good or bad?
First, the negative. The fact that the WWE have saw fit to take Daniel Bryan out of harms way for a significant period like a UK tour shows that there is real concern over the Superstar's neck injury and the way it is reacting to increased punishment. Having, once again, to pull back on Bryan despite his popularity will only add another hurdle to the bearded star's attempts to reach the very top of the company.
On the other hand, the WWE's explanation that the decision was a "precautionary measure" should give fans some solace. With rumor and speculation since the initial story broke suggesting Bryan's long-term WWE future was in doubt, the top brass' response tonight should put many minds at rest. They identified a slight problem and reacted before it got out of hand.
When and what next
It is believed that the decision was taken after Daniel Bryan was involved in a match with John Cena during a SmackDown taping that took place yesterday night.
As yet there is no further word from anyone on exactly how long the WWE Superstar will be out of the ring this time around.
What do you think WWE fans? Can Daniel Bryan ever get over his injury concerns, and can the WWE trust him to be a top star? Have your say in the comments section below...
