Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has confirmed that he wants versatile forward Theo Walcott to stay with the club on a long term basis, reports Goal.com.
Speaking in his press conference ahead of this weekend's FA Cup semi-final clash with Championship outfit Reading, the Gunners chief insisted that Walcott is improving in north London, and will have a great goalscoring record in the future.
Walcott, who currently earns £100,000-a-week to star in north London, has endured a tricky time at the Emirates of late, however his boss clearly wants him to stay, as he told reporters:

"I believe he will have a great future and I want him to stay here," he told reporters ahead of the Gunners' FA Cup semi-final clash with Reading.
"Walcott is getting better every week and will have a great goalscoring record in the future."

No doubt Walcott will be hoping to secure a place in Wenger's side for this weekend's FA cup showdown, but it remains to be seen as to whether the England international will feature at Wembley.
Mertesacker delighted with response
Arsenal ace Per Mertesacker has insisted that he's delighted with the way his teammates have responded following criticism at the start of the season, reports the Daily Star.
The Gunners endured a tricky time earlier on this term, however they've turned their season around of late, and Mertesacker has hailed the side.
“I am delighted with how the team responded to the criticism that came our way,” said Mertesacker.
“We are in a good position now [but at the start] we suffered a lot of injuries to players who were amazing last season, so we had to replace them with youngsters.
Asier Illaramendi could be on the move
Real Madrid ace Asier Illaramendi could be on the move this summer for around £18 million with Arsenal seemingly interested in his services.
This has been reported by the Daily Mail, who have suggested that the north London outfit could make a move for the Spanish international in the upcoming transfer window. At 25, the midfield ace would no doubt prove a fine coup for the north London outfit, but it remains to be seen as to whether they step up their interest in him anytime soon.
