Diego Costa may have been a success during his first season with Chelsea but that doesn’t mean that Jose Mourinho isn’t looking at ways to improve his strike force. Reports this morning carry rumours that The Special One is aiming to provide a backup for the Spain international in the form of West Ham star Enner Valencia, who has himself impressed at West Ham since moving to the Premier League last summer. Whilst youngster Patrick Bamford is set to be rewarded with a new contract after a great loan spell with Middlesbrough he’s not quite ready for the Chelsea first-team yet, though where Valencia’s purchase would leave Didier Drogba and Loic Remy is anyone’s guess. Now it’s time for all you Oscar fans to look away, as it appears Mourinho is set to sell him in the summer. The playmaker is a first-team regular at Stamford Bridge but speculation insists Chelsea will get rid to balance their books. Puzzled? So are we.
