Liverpool star Raheem Sterling has been caught up in more controversy after being pictured smoking with a shisha pipe again, this time with team-mate Jordon Ibe, according to the Daily Mail.
Sterling, 20, was in the headlines earlier in the week for appearing to smoke a shisha pipe, which some experts say can be as harmful as 200 cigarettes, and then the winger was caught on video inhaling from a balloon believed to be filled with nitrous oxide, or as it's more informally called, ‘laughing gas’.
The pictures that have emerged today have been believed to have been taken in a London bar earlier in the season. Ibe, pictured with Sterling, has started to edge his way into the first-team after he was recalled from Derby following a successful loan spell.
Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has again had to remind Sterling about his professional responsibilities and words has it that he has also done the same with 19-year-old Ibe. He met with the two on Thursday and the club insist the matter is closed; they have refused to comment further.
Sterling has had his professional reputation damaged over the past month and even Liverpool fans have grown impatient with the youngster’s antics. At the unveiling of Liverpool’s new kit, one fan shouted: “Make sure we see you in it next season."
This comes after it was reported Sterling had rejected a new contract at the club worth an estimated £100,000 a week.
The fresh controversy of these new pictures are not what the club will want going into their FA Cup semi-final match against Aston Villa at Wembley this weekend, but do Liverpool fans think too much is being made over the discrepancies? Let us know your thoughts in the comments box below.
