Juventus considering Ramires to replace Paul Pogba this summer

Juventus are lining up a summer bid for Chelsea midfielder Ramires, as they see him as a possible replacement for Paul Pogba.

The Brazilian has been forced to take a back seat this year at Stamford Bridge due to the excellent displays from the likes of Nemanja Matic and Francesc Fabregas.

As a result his position isn’t as secure as it’s been in years past, and Juventus know that they have to keep tabs on players capable of filling the void left if they lose Pogba.

Despite the Turin giants’ insistence that the France international will not be sold they will still face a stern battle to keep him, particularly if any of Europe’s biggest clubs make him a transfer priority. That could well come to pass since the likes of Jose Mourinho, Louis van Gaal and Carlo Ancelotti are all admirers, but if it does Juve will have a real struggle replacing him.

In that respect Ramires is being touted as a candidate to do the job, with Italian outlet Gazzetta dello Sport stating that he is on the radar at the Juventus Stadium, along with Belgian midfielder Axel Witsel. Mourinho might look to use the situation to his advantage; if he can promise Juve Ramires then it may well give him the lead in the race for Pogba.
