Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos has bemoaned the poor timing of Cristiano Ronaldo’s 30th birthday party - albeit in a light-hearted manner.
The Germany international was one of many Real Madrid stars who decided against attending the birthday bash, which occurred hours after Los Blancos were humiliated 4-0 by locals rivals Atletico Madrid at the Vicente Calderon.
Ronaldo was criticised for his decision to go ahead with the event after such a disappointing performance - while reports at the time claimed both James Rodriguez and Sami Khedira would be fined by Real Madrid for attending the birthday bash while injured.

Kroos: Cristiano should time his parties better!
"Cristiano is crazy for football," Kroos was quoted as saying by AS, according to Goal. "If he could just chose better timing for his parties that would be great!”
Kroos went on to reveal the reasons why he opted not to attend Ronaldo’s birthday.

Kroos explains why he didn't attend
"I didn’t go,” the World Cup winner confirmed. “I was invited a few days before and mentioned to him that we had the derby against Atletico and it wouldn’t be easy.
"As you know, we lost 4-0. I’m not of the opinion that it should have been cancelled. It would have been a logistical nightmare to cancel a part with 200 invitees in just two hours.
"I decided not to go as it didn’t feel right at the time. But Cristiano works so hard on a day-to-day basis, he's determined to improve. He loves scoring goals.
"Only he can achieve what he is achieving. His hard work is all combined with his great natural talent."
Kroos should be contributing more
Kroos, as was expected, has established himself as a first-team regular at the Bernabeu following his summer move from Bayern Munich - despite the stiff competition for places.
However, he will be looking to improve his goal-tally before the end of the current campaign.
Kroos has scored just one goal in all competitions for Los Blancos, despite having made 45 appearances for his current employers.
While goalscoring his not the responsibility of Kroos, he’s more than capable of scoring at least 5-10 goals every season, as he proved during his final four seasons at the Allianz Arena.
