Extreme Rules takes place next Sunday night, live from the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois and it will be the seventh version of the event.

Over the past six years, Extreme Rules has seen some incredible matches, stipulations and title victories, but which ones have made it into the top five?

5 - Straight Edge Cash In

The stage was set in 2009 when Extreme Rules made it's debut and Jeff Hardy was forced to take part in two matches in the same night. Edge walked into the event as the World Champion and fought the Charismatic Enigma in a ladder match.

The match itself was a brutal affair and Edge had to be trapped so as to let Hardy climb the ladder and lift the World Championship, but little did he know, Mr Money in the Bank CM Punk was ready to cash in his briefcase and Hardy was forced to participate in a second match. Two GTS's later and CM Punk realised his dream and lifted the World Heavyweight Championship.

4 - Loser leaves WWE

Extreme Rules 2011 saw one of the biggest shocks of that event when former friends Michelle McCool and Layla collided with their WWE future on the line.

Rumors surrounding Layla's departure and return to England were rife, but shockingly it was McCool who lost the no countout, no disqualification match and was forced to depart WWE for good.

3 - The Hounds finally won their collars

Back in 2013 The Hounds of Justice reigned supreme in WWE and following thier incredible debut on the grandest stage of them all a few weeks previous, Ambrose, Rollins and Reigns were out to make a statement at their first Extreme Rules event.

Dean Ambrose began the night by defeating Kofi Kingston for the United States Championship before he was joined in the ring by his Shield cohorts to celebrate. Later in the night Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns continued their reign of dominance as they defeated Daniel Bryan and Kane to lift the WWE Tag Team Championships.

2 - Brock Lesnar returns

Brock Lesnar returned to WWE for his first match since 2004 as he faced John Cena in an Extreme Rules match at the event of the same name in 2012.

The match was a bloody affair as both men left it all in the ring, there were weapons aplenty but once again John Cena picked up the win following an AA on the steel steps before announcing that he was going on vacation.

1 - Rollins Extreme Rules moment

Extreme Rules 2014 was an underwhelming affair, except for the six man tag match that saw the reunion of Evolution as they took on The Shield. Again the trio stole the show and the stand out performer Seth Rollins dived off the balcony to take out Triple H and Randy Orton and help his team to victory.

This was the extreme moment of the 2014 event and put Seth's name on the WWE radar because following the rematch at Payback a few weeks later Rollins turned on his Shield brothers and this marked the end of The Shield.
