Cesc Fabregas: We just want to win the title

Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas believes that his Chelsea squad are in pole position to claim the Premier League title after their victory over Manchester United on Sunday.

Chelsea took a massive step towards the Premier League title after Eden Hazard's low strike gave Jose Mourinho's all three points at Stamford Bridge.

The defeat for United all but ended their title hopes after a resurgent run, but former Arsenal midfielder Fabregas knew the Blues had to put in a good performance to end their hopes.

"It was a good performance and a good win. When you win it’s always a job well done, especially against Man United. We know we couldn’t afford to lose because they are behind us and we didn’t want to give them hope," Fabregas told Chelsea's official website.

If Chelsea win their next two away games, against Arsenal and Leicester, the Blues will be crowned Champions at the King Power stadium on 29 April.

But Fabregas' attention quickly turned to The Blues' game against Arsenal this weekend. And the Spaniard believes that his side need to go the the Emirates and put in a good performance.

"It’s massive. We have to put in a good performance because we know the Emirates is always a difficult place to go."

‘We just want to win it," stressed Fabregas turning his attention to the league title. "The sooner, the better."

Fabregas believes the Chelsea players owe it to their supporters to bring the title back to Stamford Bridge after a five year absence.

"We want to give satisfaction to the supporters. It’s been five years for them without winning the Premier League title; for me it’s been 27 years so I’d love to win it as soon as possible," Fabregas said.
