Good morning Chelsea fans! The sun is high in the sky, there’s not a cloud to be seen (presuming you live in or around London) and the Blues news is coming thick and fast.

We can’t really attribute the last one to the weather since with the transfer looming rumours and gossip are always going to be rife when it comes to one of England’s biggest clubs. Yet at the same time there’s something about reading news whilst the sun is shining that makes it far more pleasurable than when storm clouds are brewing - essentially every other day in the English calendar.

Perhaps it’s something to do with pathetic fallacy, perhaps I’m just writing words in a desperate attempt to reach a pre-determined count. Who knows? In any case, here’s your Chelsea roundup for today. Enjoy.

Luis open to move?

Leading today’s collection of Stamford Bridge-based ongoings is a story that’s actually stemmed from Spain. More specifically Madrid, and not the Real side. Spanish newspaper AS are claiming that Blues full-back Filipe Luis could be open to heading back to the Vicente Calderon stadium this summer as he’s been essentially forced to play second-fiddle to Cesar Azpilicueta for the duration of this season.

The Brazilian could be key to Jose Mourinho’s hopes of securing a deal for Atletico’s midfield star Koke and, despite the fact he’s said in the past that he’s in west London for the long haul, there can be no doubting that The Special One will use him as a bargaining chip if given the opportunity.

AS claims that Chelsea know Atletico have struggled to find a suitable left-back since allowing Luis to leave last summer and are hoping to use that to their advantage. Whether or not they can will be Diego Simeone's prerogative.

Loftus-Cheek confirmation

Next up Mourinho has confirmed that academy starlet Ruben Loftus-Cheek will play for his first-team next season, despite the fact he’s only 19 years of age. The young midfielder has impressed in the lower levels of the club and Mourinho himself has said that his developmental phase is over.

Along with Loftus-Cheek three or four others could be promoted to the first-team as the Blues looks to shake off a reputation for not using the overwhelming potential of their youth system.

Drogba's Twitter put down

Last but not least Stamford Bridge veteran Didier Drogba has shown one Twitter troll why it’s usually best to think long and hard before attempting to insult him.

After being labelled ‘scum’ for ruling himself out of the forthcoming Match Against Poverty charity game - due to an injury picked up against Manchester United - Drogba retorted with a simple put down which questioned whether the Tweeter could read. You stay classy, Didier.
