Stone Cold Steve Austin may not have wrestled full time in the WWE since 2003, but the past few weeks have shown that the veteran Superstar remains one of the company's biggest talking points.
From speculation about a run in with Vince McMahon, to alleged issues over merchandising rights, discontent relating to a John Cena move and a WrestleMania no show, Stone Cold's name has been amongst the headlines.
His side of the story
Now though Austin has had his say - using his popular podcast to address the rumors and reveal the current situation.
Speaking on the latest edition of "Steve Austin Show," the Hall of Famer first took aim at the claims that he and the WWE were embroiled in a legal battle related to merchandise.
Earlier reports had claimed that the WWE and Austin were at loggerheads over some t-shirt designs currently on sale. The wrestler though said that, after speaking to WWE lawyers, the issue is now resolved.
Stating that there are "no issues" on either side of the apparent argument, Stone Cold has appeased some WWE fans who were beginning to worry that his relationship with the company would ruin any chance of a big stage comeback in the future.
Indeed the multi-time WWE Champion went further than dispelling negative rumors - starting a positive one of his own.
On the same podcast, Stone Cold Steve Austin mentioned that he and the WWE are currently "working on some exciting stuff". A statement that is sure to get the WWE Universe speculating.
With the organization hoping to break records at next year's WrestleMania 32 show at Dallas' AT&T stadium there are many who believe Austin will be called upon to return to the ring.
We can only hope and dream that this is the "exciting stuff" currently under discussion between the two sides but, after he finally came out to deny the relentless rumors of unrest, at least that dream remains a live for veteran fans.
