Ex-Manchester United coach Phil Neville believes the biggest thing the club could do this summer is hand goalkeeper David de Gea a new long term deal at Old Trafford.
As reported by Goal.com, Neville, who left the Theatre of Dreams this past summer after the failed tenure of former manager David Moyes, has hailed De Gea has 'world class', claiming that he's never seen a player develop as quickly as him.
While Neville and Co. were at United last season, De Gea secured the club's Player of the Year award, but he's been arguably even better under the Louis van Gaal regime this season.

In fact the Spanish international has been nominated for the PFA Player of the Year award and will no doubt scoop United's prestigious prize once again this term.
His long term future on English soil, however, remains uncertain, with his contract set to run out at the club at the end of next season and Spanish giants Real Madrid seemingly interested in his signature.

World-class De Gea
Neville, then, has called on his former club to tie down the shot-stopper sooner rather than later, as he told reporters: "The biggest thing is David De Gea, and keeping him at the football club.
"From when he first came, to how he is now, I don’t think I’ve seen a player develop and improve as quickly as him.
"He's now at the stage where you’d say he’s world-class. He’s winning football games on his own. It’s a flippant thing to say but he really is.
"Last minutes saves against Everton, Hull, Arsenal away - there’s seven or eight occasions where he has won United games which just shows you that he is world-class."
For now, though, De Gea and Co. will be concentrating on helping the Red Devils maintain their position in the Premier League's top four - starting with a crunch clash against Everton at Goodison Park on Sunday.
There's no doubt about it, Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal must make sure he keeps the 'keeper at the club for the long term. At the end of the day, if United have the Spaniard between the sticks, then they have a huge platform to build on as the club go about getting back to the summit of the Premier League.
De Gea really has won United several points throughout the course of the campaign, so remains a crucial asset for the club.
If United manage to add one or two world-class players to their squad in the summer and hand De Gea a new contract, then they will only go from strength-to-strength under the Van Gaal regime. It's a huge summer for both club and player.
