Memphis Depay is more likely to join Manchester United than Liverpool based on the fact the Dutch winger has already worked under Louis van Gaal.
That's according to Ajax head coach Ronald de Boer, who told talkSPORT's Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast Show that the 21-year-old has all the attributes to become a Premier League superstar.
The PSV Eindhoven ace has been heavily linked with a move to England this summer, and De Boer says the relationship Depay has with the Red Devils boss from their time together in the Netherlands national team fold could prove decisive in attempts to lure the player to Old Trafford.
"I don't want to say which club is more suitable for him, but if he goes to United he knows there is a Dutch coach there who knows him from the World Cup," he explained. "That is an advantage."
Compared in playing style to a young Cristiano Ronaldo, the fleet-footed forward is expected to cost around £25 million after enhancing his reputation following a sensational season in Holland.
Depay helped end PSV's seven-year wait for the Eredivisie title, and will depart the Philips Stadion to much fan fare when the transfer window reopens.
"He is one of the biggest talents in Europe," added De Boer. "He has skill compared to a young Cristiano Ronaldo.
"He is very lively, technically unbelievable, very skilful, very fast, he has a great goalscoring record, he can shoot from every distance - he has everything.
"For me, he is without doubt one of the best talents we have."
Brendan Rodgers's hopes of taking Depay to Anfield are relatively slim, then, with Manchester United seemingly in a stronger position to secure the Holland international's signature.
Lloris to replace De Gea at Old Trafford
Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris is being lined up for a move to Manchester United if David de Gea leaves Old Trafford for Real Madrid this summer.
The France international is ready to leave White Hart Lane at the end of the season if Spurs fail to qualify for the Champions League, and would consider a switch to the Theatre of Dreams.
Van Gaal gets fan's summer wish list
Louis van Gaal has received some valuable transfer advice from a supporter - a list, written down on paper, of five potential signings for Manchester United to make this summer.
The Red Devils boss was handed the wish-list during Monday's Foundation Dream Day event and proceeded to read out the names of prospective targets to camera.
The video clip is now sweeping across social media and has Old Trafford supporters excited about the chances of those stars arriving at the Theatre of Dreams.
