WWE: Daniel Bryan facing prospect of missing two pay-per-view events

Daniel Bryan's early exit from the WWE's European tour remains shrouded in mystery but, whilst no one is quite sure of just what happened to him across the pond, new reports today suggest the consequences could be even worse than many fans first feared.

Bryan left the tour early after picking up some form of injury - some suggesting a concussion while WWE themselves put it down as a precautionary measure - leading to rumors that he could be forced out of action for this weekend's Extreme Rules PPV.

Even worse?

A report from Wrestling Observer has though revealed that, per a source from within the WWE, it might not be just this Sunday's primetime event that the Superstar will miss.

According to the source the WWE believes Daniel Bryan will be out of action for five weeks because of his latest set back.

With the general consigns being that the popular star suffered the injury on April 9th this means that, as well as having very little chance of competing at Extreme Rules, Bryan is facing the very real prospect of missing out on the Payback PPV event too. This takes place in Baltimore on May 17th.

Best case scenario and the five week timeline began on the 9th itself would put Bryan in line for a tentative return on April 15 giving him just two days to ready himself for a PPV that - at this rate - he really cannot afford to miss.

If the five week rehabilitation begins from when these quotes were procured however then there is little hope of the bearded Superstar's entrance music being heard in mid-May.

Extreme Rules

Either way it now looks like those rumors which began late last week suggesting the WWE would have to scrap the Daniel Bryan vs Bad News Barrett Intercontinental Title match slated for Extreme Rules may be about to come true.

With Bryan now facing up to the very real prospect of missing two consecutive PPVs it puts a huge dampener on what has been a successful return to the top table as of late.

Having convinced the WWE higher ups of his value with a stunning display at WrestleMania 31, Bryan is now back in the familiar situation of being unable to defend his belt.
