Liverpool are interested in signing Chelsea shot-stopper Petr Cech this summer, according to the Daily Mail.

The report claims, however, that the Blues 'keeper, who has endured a tricky campaign under the guidance of Jose Mourinho at Stamford Bridge this season, is also on Real Madrid's radar.

In fact, the same report from the Daily Mail has revealed that the Spanish giants could move for Cech, if they miss out on Manchester United man David de Gea.

They go on to claim that a move to Real for Cech would be a dream for the player, but it remains to be seen as to whether the European champions step up their interest in him.

Despite a lack of first team football this term, the goalkeeper is still recognised as one of the best in world football, so it's not entirely surprising that a number of clubs are interested in swooping for him.

Liverpool must swoop

Ultimately, it's not going to be easy for Liverpool to land him in the near future, but Reds boss Brendan Rodgers should do everything in his power to persuade the Chelsea man to move to Anfield.

Current Reds No.1 Simon Mignolet has certainly impressed in recent months after a nightmare opening to the season, but there's no doubt about it, Cech would prove a major upgrade on the Belgian international.

He may well be approaching the latter stages of his career, but the Chelsea man still has at least five good years at the top left in him, so Rodgers should attempt to sign him this summer.
