The second NXT TakeOver special of the year takes place on May 20th and a number of matches have already been confirmed for the event.
NXT, as they do, has taped a number of shows, and on those shows matches for the TakeOver event have been announced.
As expected the likes of Kevin Owens, Finn Balor and Sami Zayn will all feature on the card.

Currently four matches have been announced, but expect another couple of matches to be made official in the coming weeks as NXT puts on their first TakeOver special without Adrian Neville - someone who has been a part of every special until now.
This article will contain spoilers, if you wish to avoid knowing any of these matches until they are officially announced then please turn back now.

NXT CHAMPIONSHIP – KEVIN OWENS VS. SAMI ZAYN
This was the match we knew would take place ever since Owens defeated Zayn in brutal fashion a couple of months ago. The two have been at each other’s throats ever since and fans need to tune in to the event to see these two show off their abilities and unique chemistry in the ring, telling a story like no other.
I don’t believe Owens will drop the title this early, if he does then this feud could run on for quite a while. But it had been reported that Kevin Owens was set to hold the championship for the remainder of the year, which means the likes of Hideo Itami and Finn Balor will miss out on holding the gold before moving up to the WWE main roster.
Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn will definitely steal the show on a night where there are a number of good matches, but the writers could go down an alternative and surprising route, having Owens brutalise Zayn so bad that he ends his NXT career, prompting a move to the main roster.
NXT WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP – SASHA BANKS VS. BECKY LYNCH
Another match of the night contender with two impressive divas inside of the ring, as fans will once more come together and let them know that they are better than the majority of the divas on the main roster.
This is an interesting match to put together. I would have thought that Charlotte and Sasha Banks would meet for the final time before Charlotte moves up to the main roster, but it’s nice to see someone else get a shot and Becky Lynch is more than a deserving contender.
The two have been tag team partners so it’s clear they know how to work well together and if Sasha Banks continues to impress then maybe her moving up to the main roster might come sooner rather than later and we could potentially see a new champion.
NXT TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP – BLAKE & MURPHY VS. ENZO AMORE AND COLIN CASSADY
It’s odd for me as a long time NXT fan to see a tag team championship match without the likes of The Ascension or The Lucha Dragons involved, but it’s about time Enzo Amore and Big Cass are given a shot at the titles and if anyone deserves the gold, it’s them.
We’ve seen this feud brewing for a number of weeks now, ever since Blake and Murphy picked up the shock victory over Kalisto and Sin Cara for the gold, so I don’t expect them to drop the titles just yet.
Enzo Amore and Big Cass will get their moment as championship, but for now they’re two of the guys who are over the most with the NXT Universe, so they don’t really need the championships.
RHYNO VS. BARON CORBIN
Now this is a match which should last some time, this is something Corbin needs if he is to be an even bigger and more versatile superstar on NXT. Sure, picking up quick victory after quick victory is a good way to look dominant, but he’s yet to show what else he has in his arsenal. He’s a favourite on NXT and he needs to improve if he’s to avoid going down the same route as Roman Reigns.
With Rhyno, he has a great opponent to show off his skills as Rhyno is here to put the younger stars over and if Corbin is going to be elevated into the NXT Championship picture then he needs to win but not in a matter of minutes, it needs to be a gruelling contest.
There are some matches which haven’t been announced but could be soon based on the way tapings are going.
Expect to see a triple threat match between Hideo Itami, Tyler Breeze and Finn Balor. However, this past week we saw Tyler Breeze call out Finn Balor so we could see a singles match between Breeze and Balor which leaves Hideo Itami alone. He too has a great option in the form of Solomon Crowe, but with both stars as faces it remains doubtful and Crowe could take on someone like Bull Dempsey.
Another divas match should be on the card, we could see a match between Charlotte and Bayley but the likelihood is that Charlotte and Bayley will team up to take on the team of Emma and new NXT diva, Dana Brooke.
