Theirry Henry would have signed Cesc Fabregas for Arsenal

Thierry Henry has just admitted that he would have signed Cesc Fabregas last summer if he was the Arsenal boss.

Speaking on Sky Sports ahead of the Gunners' Premier League showdown with Chelsea, the ex-forward insisted that he would have placed the Spaniard in the No.10 role at the Emirates.

In fact, Henry has insisted that he still sees Fabregas as an Arsenal player, claiming it's strange to see him starring week in, week out for the Blues.

Henry said: "I will always see him as an Arsenal man. It's kind of weird for me to see him in that blue jersey.

"16 assists. You almost have to take three Arsenal players to reach that amount. So I would have loved to see him back at Arsenal. If I was the boss I'd have tried to bring him back to Arsenal and tried to see who I could sell.

"I would have played him like he used to play behind the striker. That would have been my guy behind the striker."

In fact, Henry has even insisted that he would have happily placed German star Mesut Ozil on the bench to bring Fabregas into the side.

He continued by saying: "When asked by Carragher if he'd have placed Ozil on the bench, Henry responded by saying: Yes, I'd have put Ozil on the bench for Fabregas."

Brilliant with Sanchez

Of course, many will suggest that Wenger opted for Alexis Sanchez over Fabregas last summer, but perhaps he should have signed them both.

Sanchez and Fabregas could have formed a marvelous partnership in north London, with the Spaniard assisting his former Barcelona teammate.
