Memphis Depay is a top transfer target for Manchester United and Liverpool - and the Dutchman addressed speculation over his future after last night’s PSV game.

Depay denied reports that claimed he’d held talks with Manchester United over a summer transfer, after it was reported that Depay had flown in for discussions with upper management regarding a deal.

However, Depay downplayed the rumours when speaking to Fox Sports, although as correspondent Elko Born noted, he did so with a glint in his eye.

“It’s not true,” Depay said after PSV’s 3-2 win against Excelsior. “I want to say nothing more about it. We’ll see how it goes, but I know myself there is still nothing so I can tell you nothing.”

As Mr Born, who has written for FourFourTwo, the Daily Telegraph and the Daily Mirror noted, Depay may actually have just been keeping his cards close to his chest.

Depay scored PSV’s second at the weekend, and it was another stunning free-kick. The Dutch international, who played under Louis van Gaal at last summer’s Wold Cup, is earning a reputation as one of European football’s best dead ball specialists.

PSV went on to score again after Depay’s 75 minute leveller, clinching a 3-2 victory for the Eredivisie champions.

What do you think Manchester United fans - will Depay be a Manchester United player by next season?
