Chelsea are preparing a summer move for French midfield ace Giannelli Imbula, according to The Sun.
The report claims that the Stamford Bridge outfit have already sent scouts to watch the talented 22-year-old, who looks set for a bright future in the game.
In fact, Imbula, who has starred on a number of occasions for France Under-21 side, has made 33 league starts for Marseille this term, and has attracted interest from some of the biggest names in world football.
As well as Chelsea, the same report claims that Spanish giants Real Madrid are interested in the player's services, with a £20 million summer deal seemingly possible.
It appears, then, that the Blues will have quite the battle on their hands to land the Frenchman, but they may well step up their interest in him sooner rather than later.
There's no doubt about it, if Mourinho added Imbula to his side, then the Blues would only improve further in the middle of the park ahead of the 2015/16 campaign.
This season, with the likes of Cesc Fabregas, Nemanja Matic and Ramires operating in the midfield department, the Blues have been quite the force in the central areas of the pitch.
And with the report from The Sun claiming that Mourinho would be ready to utilise Imbula alongside Nemanja Matic as a deep-lying midfielder, it may even hand Spaniard Fabregas an even more advancing role next term.
One thing's for sure, despite a fine campaign so far, Mourinho already appears to be plotting and planning for long term success at the club.
And if Imbula does arrive at the Bridge, then it's extremely likely that he will join the Premier League champions. After the Blues' stalemate at the Emirates yesterday, they are just two victories away from securing the title.
Led by Mourinho, Chelsea certainly deserve to be crowned champions, with the likes of John Terry, Eden Hazard, Matic and Co. having proved sensational throughout the course of the season.
The only worry for the club's rivals is that Chelsea may well improve further this summer. Mourinho seems to be in this for the long haul.
