Arsenal hero Charlie Nicholas believes Manchester United should target Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech if David de Gea moves to Real Madrid this summer.
As reported by Sky Sports, the pundit has insisted that the Red Devils should attempt to move for the Blues ace, who may well depart Stamford Bridge in the upcoming window.
Cech, who is recognised as a legend in west London, has endured a tricky campaign under the guidance of Jose Mourinho, failing to secure a regular place in the starting XI after the arrival of Belgian youngster Thibaut Courtois.

It appears, then, that Cech may well look to depart the Bridge at the end of the season, and Nicholas has tipped him to move to Old Trafford on the condition that De Gea moves on.
Cech to Old Trafford
The ex-Arsenal man stated: "If David de Gea leaves for Real Madrid, then you go out and get Petr Cech, if Chelsea are willing to sell to a rival club that is.

"He’s the sort of player that can come in and provide the sort of presence which will make the defence feel settled."
Of course, it's far from certain as to whether the Chelsea hierarchy would offload Cech to a rival, while fans of the Red Devils will no doubt be hoping that De Gea commits his future to the club.
United need De Gea
De Gea's long term future in the game has been the subject of much debate in recent time with the player set to run out of his current deal at Old Trafford at the end of next season.
And United will be hoping that he does opt to stay with the club after securing his place in this year's PFA Team of the Year. There's no doubt about it, the Spaniard has been the club's most consistent player throughout the course of the last two years, so it's crucial they keep him as Louis van Gaal and Co. go in search of long term success on English soil.
If - and it's a big if - De Gea really does move on, then of course United need to look no further than Cech. Ok, critics will say he's approaching the latter stages of his career, but if he was a realistic option for United then they should make their move.
Ultimately, Edwin van der Sar joined the Red Devils late on in his career and he retired as an Old Trafford hero. It's certainly something for the United hierarchy to think about.
